Getting Older Sucks
And no two women experience perimenopause or menopause the same way. Both come with all sorts of symptoms – daily stress, irritability, fatigue, anxiety, acne – and let’s not forget the hot flashes and night sweats.
Perimenopause is marked by a drop in estrogen, which is the main female hormone produced by the ovaries. The estrogen levels can also go up and down more sporadically than a normal 28-day cycle, which causes uncomfortable side effects such as acne, fatigue and weight gain.
During the final stages of perimenopause, your body will produce less and less estrogen, eventually leading to the final stage: menopause. When your hormones reach this stage, many women experience hot flashes, night sweats, mood swings, and even more fatigue.
