Today, tea is the most popular non-alcoholic beverage in Russia. Our black tea blend, not to be confused with the frightening teas of the past, is based on an old Russian recipe and is ideal for serving in a samuvar. It's a tea that is both highly aromatic and smooth with a slightly smoky note. 3-5 minutes - Steeping time: 100 C - Water temperature: 4-5 heaped teaspoons - 1 liter. Before the introduction of black tea from China, the samuvar was used until the early 17th century to brew "Sbiten," a mixture of hot water, honey, and herbs.
