Character of the Region:Gisanga coffee is grown in the high mountains of the Congo-Nile Divide, at elevations of 1,650-1,850 meters. This region, with an annual rainfall of 1,100-1,300 mm and an average temperature of 18 C-20 C, is one of Rwanda's most suitable agricultural areas. The volcanic Inceptisol soil structure plays a key role in the development of the coffee's characteristic flavors.

Process and Authenticity:Gisanga coffee is prepared using a fully washed process using natural spring water known as "Theresa's natural spring." This traditional method has been used since the 1980s and ensures the coffee retains its natural aromas and flavors. The beans are hand-harvested, carefully selected, and fermented for 10-16 hours. An environmentally friendly wastewater treatment system is used.
