We wanted a coffee that evoked those feelings of warmth or family and tradition.

Why Start A Coffee Company

An East Van Tradition

In early 2010 we decided that we were not thrilled with the coffee scene in Vancouver. Over roasted and burnt or citrus like.

We wanted back to the feelings and flavours found and felt while touring Europe. Similar flavours that you would have found on The Drive when the 1st European immigrants settled in Vancouver's Little Italy in the heart of East Van. We wanted to go back to the roots of European coffee that aroma and flavour that resonated throughout the coffee bars and homes of Europe.

The Park Drive Dark Roast Whole Bean Coffee

The Park Drive is a blending of two beans from Costa Rica and Mexico. Strong rich flavours with low acidity, earthy caramel hints, a leather and Cuban tobacco malt body and a bitter sweet Dutch chocolate finish. This is a spectacular roast that works well in any of you coffee making methods stove top, counter top or craft brewed!

Our personal favourite, The Drive Espresso is a combination of three beans working in perfect harmony. Sumatran, Mexican and Peruvian beans give a chocolate, blackcurrant, and bitter sweet vanilla bean body. A balanced brightness, sticky and rich, dessert like mouth feel. This is the coffee on the espresso bar at East Van's own The Drive Coffee Bar at 1670 Commercial Drive!

East Vancouver - Commercial Drive Coffee

Little Italyin Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada is an area in the eastern part of the city, in the Grandview-Woodland neighbourhood, often synonymous with the Commercial Drive area. Historically this area was an enclave of ethnic Italians and Italian businesses. On April 6, 2016 the Vancouver city Councillors voted unanimously to declare the area as Little Italy after NPA Councillor put forward the motion. A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held on June 12 to recognize officially an eight-block stretch of Commercial Drive as Little Italy.

We are still in the heart of East Vancouver's Little Italy. Our coffee bar is at the corner of 1st and Commercial.
