Maintain the natural color

Supi Saunavaha (Sauna Wax) is a waterborne protective finish containing natural wax. Like a thin stain, it permeates the wood and gives it a naturally beautiful, silky matt protection. The ready-mixed colours are black, white, and gray. The product can be tinted in Tikkurila translucent colours

Protective agent for interior wooden surfaces, containing natural wax.

Treatment with colourless Supi Saunavaha maintains the natural colour of the wood, as it does not deepen the colour of wood like oil treatments.

A surface treatment for wooden surfaces in saunas. The wax is absorbed into the wood, forming a natural barrier to dirt and water.

For sauna benches, paneled walls and ceilings, doors and window frames.

A safe M1 category product

Supi sauna products are in the best M1 building material emission class. This means that no harmful substances evaporate from them into the indoor air.

APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS

Application conditions

The surface to be treated must be dry, the ambient temperature at least +5 °C and the relative humidity of air below 80%.

Surface preparation

Clean the wood surface of any dirt and dust. Wet the surface lightly with water spray, let dry and sand off the loose wood fibres. Remove the sanding dust.

Wash with Supi Saunapesu cleaning agent according to instructions, rinse thoroughly and let dry.

Not suitable for oiled wood surfaces unless the oil has worn away almost completely.

Application

Stir Supi Sauna Wax thoroughly, also from time to time during use. Apply one coat of wax along the grain, not using more wax than the wood can absorb in a single application. Because the wax is very liquid, the most suitable application method is a foam brush or sponge. The surface will feel slippery if too much wax is applied.

Pre-heat and ventilate the sauna thoroughly before use

Coverage: 10–13 m²/l, depending on the species of wood.
Apply with a foam brush, sponge or brush with artificial bristles.
Dust-dry in approx. 30 minutes to 1 hour. Ready for use after 24 hours.

Wax treatment for wooden sauna surfaces

Minimum content on this size is 225ml. Tikkurila products are canned in Finland and at the point of filling the volume in the can is 10% less than the unit of measure to allow for tinting of the product. In order to manufacture the required colour, we need the spare volume for the colourant addition.
