    Hair color is numbered from 1 to 10. Level 1 is jet black and 10 is platinum blonde. Level 5 can relate to medium brown, blonde or red.

Gray Roots Gone Instantly Rich Black is shade level 2 for women who dye their hair pure black. If you are between shades, choose the lighter color. Dark Brown is shade level 3-4. It is a very dark brown and recommended for most Latin and African American women. If you are between shades, choose the lighter color. Medium Brown is shade level 5 and is a rich, medium brown.
