With a peanut allergy in the family, and backyard birds we wanted to feed, we went looking for bird seed that was safe. We looked, and looked and looked. Everything either contained peanuts or may contain peanuts or was processed in a facility that also processes peanuts (or all three!). Nothing was safe.

So, we got to work to change this, for our family and for all of the other families - and individuals and schools and parks, everyone everywhere who wanted to safely feed the birds. And, now you can.

Our peanut free blends are loved by ALL the seed-eating backyard birds

The birds in your backyard will depend on where you live (we're really sorry, Pacific Northwest, no cardinals for you. And, we hear Southern California songbirds love our Blend 2) and the time of year (spring and fall migrations). But, wherever you are, our blends will attract and be loved by all the seed-eating backyard birds (some of which are seen above), whether they're just passing through or year-round visitors. They really won't miss peanuts. Promise.

Once you know what it's like to have a (peanut free!) backyard full of birds, we're confident it's the only backyard you'll ever want. And, we're confident our blends are the only ones you'll need.

So, we start with only the finest quality seeds that backyard birds truly love. Then we blend them in small batches, which means less dust and fresher seeds, the birds really can tell the difference. Our blends may cost a bit more, but we're confident that it's worth it and makes a difference, we think all the birds agree.

Did you know that many blends of wild bird seed can contain up to 70% (or more!) of filler seeds?

That's to say (filler) seeds that backyard birds either aren't fond of or don't eat. They make it seem like you're getting quite a bit of bird seed for not a lot of money but most of them (and your money) just goes to waste.

We decided very early on that we wanted nothing to do with fillers, even if it meant our blends would cost a bit more. We truly believe it's worth it, for the humans and the birds.

(To be fair, there are birds that will eat these filler seeds, but they’re largely either ‘nuisance’ birds that you really don’t want at your feeders, like European Starlings and House Sparrows (both of which are considered invasive species in North America) or birds that don’t frequent backyard feeders such as quail, pheasants and turkeys.)
