Waykana company started by mid-2015 when two entrepreneurs: Demetrio Santander and Juan David Gomez met for one common goal to provide a healthy energy ingredient to people who needed to get energized but also take care of health. On a travel to the Amazon, they discover guayusa which is a harmless plant for body health. Demetrio and Juan David feel quite passionate about guayusa as they had past personal experiences related to the plant, but since they experienced the Guayusa Brewing Ceremony with the Kichwas (indigenous community in Ecuador Amazon region) the project raised up. It all began from learning the practice of brewing guayusa, its symbolism, and its culture with the Kichwas people, that little by little the dream became a real project.

Today Waykana harvests and processes guayusa leaf working with the Kichwas; it provides you energy do to the natural caffeine content and offers a clean energy boost in combination with the antioxidants and amino acids it has. Our guayusa is obtained after an exhaustive investigation ended in our distinctive processes which maintain all the characteristics and properties of guayusa leaf ending with the first green guayusa in the market. Today our range of products has expanded to deliver more healthy ingredients and herbs to our customers. We are excited to announce the last products we launched are cinnamon loose leaf and moringa leaves.
