Gravel, 2-6 mm grain size, for adult chickens, guinea fowl, and young waterfowl (over 2 months old)

Since birds have no teeth, their food is crushed directly in the gizzard. Gravel is added to promote intensive crushing, which improves nutrient absorption and digestibility (especially whole grains).

Birds without gravel (in conditions where they are not allowed to range) develop cuticulitis and die. Without sufficient gravel, birds may eat bedding or feathers. Do not replace gravel with broken glass (this damages the gizzard walls) or sand (it passes from the gizzard into the intestines and causes inflammation).

Нельзя заменять гравий битым стеклом (это повреждает стенки желудка) или песком (переходит из желудка в кишечник и вызывает его воспаление).
