The Zinzino Balance Test is the foundation of our Balance concept. The Balance Test provides a detailed analysis of 11 fatty acid levels in your blood, along with six different health indicators and your essential Omega-6:3 ratio. The analysis is conducted by independent organizations, and the results are completely anonymous it helps you determine whether your body's omega nutrients are in balance. The test provides personalized advice and guidance on how to regulate your essential Omega-6:3 balance and continue your health journey.
Each indicator value is given the same weight in the second calculation, assigning a value between 0 and 100. This value is then divided by 3 to obtain the Protection Value, which should ideally be above 90. The result does not indicate a value about a person's health status it only indicates the level of fatty acid conservation.
Note:EPA and DHA values have a significant impact on all calculations. If the percentages of EPA and DHA are low, it is not surprising to see a very low or zero Conservation Value.
Omega-3 Index
The Omega-3 Index is a summary of the percentage values of the omega-3 fatty acids EPA and DHA from seafood. Ideally, a common level of at least 8 is expected, although higher values such as 10 are preferred. Omega-3s provide many benefits as they are the primary building blocks of your cells. EPA is predominant in blood, muscles, and tissues, while DHA is predominant in the brain, sperm, and eyes.
Omega-6:3 Balance
Balance is calculated by dividing the AA percentage by the EPA percentage (AA EPA) and is expressed as a Balance value such as 3:1. An Omega-6:3 Balance below 3:1 is preferable in the body. If this ratio is above 3:1, you should consider changing your diet. A low Omega-6 to Omega-3 balance is important for maintaining normal cell and tissue development (homeostasis) and helping the body control inflammation.
Cell Membrane Fluidity
Fluidity is calculated by dividing the percentage of two saturated fats by the percentage of two Omega-3s. Therefore, the fluidity value is defined as (PA SA) (EPA DHA), and the result is expressed as the fluidity index, with a ratio such as 3:1. A fluidity value below 4:1 indicates adequate fluidity in cell membranes. The more saturated the fats in a membrane, the more rigid the membrane. Conversely, the higher the polyunsaturation of fats in a membrane, the more fluid the membrane will be. Cell membrane formation and structure are critical to cell health and, ultimately, the body. On the one hand, the membrane must be rigid enough to ensure a robust cellular structure. On the other hand, it must be fluid enough to allow nutrients to enter and waste products to be eliminated.
Mental Health
This is calculated by dividing the AA percentage by the sum of the EPA and DHA percentages:
Mental Health AA (EPA DHA). The result obtained is expressed as a mental health value with a ratio of 1:1. The value should be below 1:1 to ensure an adequate and balanced supply of both Omega-6 and Omega-3 fatty acids to the brain and nervous system. Cognitive performance is enhanced by increasing the consumption of EPA and DHA, obtained from seafood Omega-3. Childhood and old age are critical and sensitive periods. Omega-3 deficiency is associated with learning and memory problems, as well as mood problems.
Arachidonic acid (AA) Index
The AA Index shows the measured value of the omega-6 fatty acid Arachidonic acid (AA) as a percentage of the total measured fatty acids. Preferred average values are between 6.5 and 9.5 , with an optimal target value of 8.3 . Arachidonic acid (AA) is the most important Omega-6 fatty acid for the body. This is Omega-6 is the starting point for the production of local tissue hormones, such as prostaglandins, thromboxanes, and leukotrienes, which have various functions. However, their primary function is to protect the body from damage by limiting the progression of infection or the effects of wound healing.
Independent Laboratory
Your test is analyzed in an independent, GMP-certified laboratory. Vitas's GMP certification means it uses good manufacturing practices. High-quality chromatographic analysis is provided based on the latest knowledge and technology. Vitas is a contract laboratory performing chemical analyses with 25 years of experience. Only you can see the BalanceTest ID included in the blood test. Neither the laboratory nor Zinzino knows who sent the test. Entering your BalanceTest ID will display your results on zinzinotest.com. Completing the survey will give you access to the full analysis. Otherwise, you will only see your balance score.
