HIGHLY VERSATILE SEASONING
Sumac is the central ingredient used in making a Mediterranean spice rub called za’atar, which is used to flavor anything from pita bread to lamb chops. It’s safe to say that you won’t run out of ways to use sumac powder in your cooking. Use it in your marinades or dressings to lend a citrusy flavor that isn’t overpowering, or use it to flavor chicken, seafood, vegetables, chickpeas and lentils. You can even add it to beverages like Bloody Mary and tea!
