Sourced from Ceylon (Sri Lanka)
Real cinnamon comes from Sri Lanka, formerly known as Ceylon, and that's where CCL harvests its whole sticks. Supermarket shelf cinnamon is decent, but for premium flavor and prime health benefits, Ceylon cinnamon is what you need.
The inner bark of the cinnamon tree is peeled and dried, curling up compactly into the classic delicate scroll shape characteristic of genuine cinnamon sticks. At this point, it is packaged whole, for you to use in a wide variety of ways. Coconut Country Living goes a step further, and only sources cinnamon it can certify as "Beyond Organic", promising that what you receive is non-GMO, raw, and safe for people with allergies.
The low percentage of coumarin in Ceylon cinnamon makes it perfect for the whole family in comparison to Cassia, or Chinese cinnamon, which has almost double the amount of coumarin.
